During the cultural revolution the Maoists did the same. But one thing is certain --you can try to crush the creative spirit, but it lies dormant for that time when the unnatural forces weaken and falter. Eventually, it rises forth gently and with persistence.
I mean, really - who wants a society with no music? Sheesh.
That made me want to cry...throwing grenades into pianos. I'm glad they are able to start again.
